Fox’s ‘Minority Report’ Series Premiere to Include ‘Simpsons’ Season 75 Nod (Video)

New sci-fi series is set in 2065 — so you do the math

Fox’s “Minority Report” takes place in 2065, 10 years after the 2002 movie of the same name does. That means it exists 50 years into our future, which the network cleverly noticed would mark the 75th anniversary season of “The Simpsons.”

Fox drew on that fun coincidence by dropping a “Season 75 Spectacular” screen grab (pictured above) of the Al Jean animated series into Monday’s series premiere of its Nick Zano-Wilmer Valderrama vehicle.

But the network didn’t stop there. For a bit of fun, Fox animators put together an extended piece celebrating the future of its favorite long-running cartoon.

In the video, Lisa Simpson is President of the United States of America, somehow following President Donald Trump (don’t worry about the math there); Maggie is a typical teenager; Bart is a male stripper; and Homer is just a floating head on a robot body.

As for Marge, well, she’s got the best joke of the clip — at her network’s expense, however.

“You know, Fox turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually, I didn’t even notice,” the Simpson family matriarch says.

“Minority Report” debuts Monday, Sept. 21 on Fox; “The Simpsons” returns with new episodes six days later.
